Internet Safety and Acceptable Use Policy
This Decorah Board of Education Policy #406.8 was approved May 2010 and fulfills these functions:
  • meets Children's Internet Protection Act (CIPA) as part of the Consolidated appropriations Act of 2001 as required for E-rate and federal grant funding and for state technology funding and grants,
  • defines acceptable and unacceptable uses with consequences,
  • explains limited expectation of privacy,
  • places limitation on school district liability,
  • defines world wide web page creation guidelines,
  • explains the Internet use agreement to be signed by all students, parents or guardians, teachers, staff, and administrators,
  • includes Internet Use Agreements to be signed and returned annually.
